The Final Night Tours of the Streets for 2011 - Wednesday, November 9

Wednesday November 9 2011 marks the last of HAC's Night Tours of the Streets for 2011 - and what a year it's been!

27 Tours, with 500 Calgarians challenging themselves to expand their understanding of life on Calgary's streets... and becoming part of the solution.

We start up again in March, 2012 - watch for your opportunity to particpate in this unique experience to learn from a Calgarian previously - or currently - experiencing homelessness!

In an ideal world...

everyone has a roof overhead, clothes on their back, and food in their stomach. Reality shows us that this is not the case. Calgary Homeless Foundation estimates more than 4,500 Calgarians experienced homelessness as of July, 2009. This is the equivalent of having the town of Didsbury living on our city streets.

An imperfect worldIn a city known as being both prosperous and progressive, it is intolerable for any member of our community to be homeless. Homelessness or the threat of homelessness affects individuals and families from every segment of our population.

Homeless Awareness Calgary (HAC) is a group of Calgarians, supported by dedicated partners, focused on educating our neighbours about the complexities of homelessness in order to inspire our communities to take action.

HAC hosts year-round learning opportunities, including the annual Homeless Awareness Week, the immersive Standing Room Only role-play game, Night Tours of the Streets, and informative speaking opportunities for schools, faith groups, community associations, corporate events, and so much more.
